TO ALL OUR VOLUNTEERS:
Pursuant to Revised Code of Washington (RCW) 43.43.380-845, the La Conner School District has made it policy to conduct background checks for all volunteers. These background checks will be conducted through the Washington State Patrol, Washington Access to Criminal history (WATCH) program. Volunteers will be notified if any Criminal history Record Information (CHRI) is found.
As a part of this process, please submit the following Volunteer Packet:
- Completed form entitled Washington State Patrol Access to Criminal History. Make sure all items are filled in properly or the form will be returned to you, which will delay
- A copy of your driver's
The students and staff of La Conner School District thank you for your interest in becoming a volunteer. Whether you are available on a monthly, weekly, daily or intermittent basis, we appreciate your involvement in our schools. La Conner schools have highly supportive families and community members. This partnership results in an incredible number of volunteers in our schools each year.
Volunteering provides an opportunity to enrich and serve the community. Volunteer opportunities cover a wide array of activities. Volunteers are essential partners in the success of our schools, and we truly appreciate their gifts of time and talent that fuel so many wonderful opportunities for our students. Sharing your talents and skills is a wonderful way to support the students in our district. As a volunteer you have the satisfaction of knowing that you are making a difference!
Individuals from throughout our community serve in variety of volunteer positions, from tutors and mentors to classroom assistants, special project committees, and so much more! There are many ways to engage in our district and become involved. If you have a special skill or interest or would like to be a positive role model for a student, there is a volunteer opportunity that is just right for you. We encourage you to share your unique perspective and skills with our schools and students. Together, we can provide a wide range of opportunities for our students and community.
Examples of ways to volunteer in our schools:
- Reading to students
- After School Program
- Reading tutors
- Math tutors
- Health Screenings
- Assisting the teacher in the classroom
- Working in the library
- Working in the office
To volunteer in a specific building please contact the administrative assistant and/or the building principal. As a potential volunteer, you will be asked to complete a volunteer background check form. The volunteer forms can be dropped off at any of our schools or the District Office.
