Learning Assistance Program

  • The Learning Assistance Program (LAP) provides supplemental instruction and services to students who are not meeting academic standards in basic skills areas (reading, writing, and mathematics as well as readiness associated with these skills) as identified by statewide, school, or district assessments or other performance measurement tools.

These services may include academic and non-academic supports that focus on accelerating student growth to make progress towards grade level and addressing barriers preventing students from accessing core instruction. The intent is for LAP-served students to increase academic growth during the period of time they are provided services.

For the 2022-23 school year, LAP services in some form are in all LCSD buildings.   For more information on LAP, try first the OSPI LAP page.

If you'd like to see an interview with some of the LAP staff (and staff from other programs), you can watch a video of our Town Hall meeting held on Dec 15, 2021.   Click here to watch.  Passcode is X=$0azLf   (Information on parent rights and complaint procedures is at the end.)
