    Hi Parents and Families,

Can you believe we’ve made it? We only have one more full week of school, and then a smattering of days after that. Before we reach the finish line, here are some important pieces of information for you about end-of-year activities.

End of Year Activities, Dates, and Information

Before we get too far ahead, there is information about the end of this year that you need to know. Here are some important details and dates to put on your calendar:

    • Technology Returns

All devices, chargers, hot spots, and computer bags (if you received one) will need to be checked in to the school by the end of the school year. Fees will be charged for lost or damaged items. Plan to send these items to school on these dates:

    • June 10-11 – Kindergarten through 2nd grade (hybrid)
    • June 14-15 – 3rd through 5th grade (hybrid)
    • June 17-18 – All remote students

    Last Day(s) of School

Because June 17th is a half-day, different hybrid cohorts have different “last days” on campus. Each cohort’s last day will include a modified Field Day. “Modified” means there will be activity stations that classes rotate through together in about an hour.

June 15 – PM Cohort Last Day (on-campus)/Field Day

June 17 - AM Cohort Last Day/Field Day

    • Remote Students are invited to join their original teachers and classmates on either date. Students will sign-up (required) through their remote teachers, who will also communicate details like drop-off and pick-up times.

As we look at wrapping up this crazy year, we have a lot to celebrate! Everyone has learned a lot about technology. Kids and families have had to stretch and grow to accommodate school schedules. Teachers have basically had to relearn how to teach. And we’ve all done it! Not only have we survived this year, we’ve actually thrived as a community. I’ve heard teachers say over and over that they feel closer to their students and families this year than ever before. We all really relied on one another to keep kids learning! I am hopeful that we can keep this depth of relationship going into next year.

If you have any questions or concerns about anything written here, please call or email me or your child’s teacher. I’ll be sending out another letter next week with some information about summer school and next fall.

    Take care,

    Heather Fakkema-Hovde
