The La Conner School District is in the process of updating the school's strategic plan. We value your voice and sure hope you can help. Please consider participating in one of the Strategic Plan Revision Focus Groups.
During the 2019-2020 school year, La Conner School District will undergo a comprehensive Strategic Planning process. The strategic plan acts as a roadmap for our school system: its primary aim is to align all stakeholders on a shared vision, common goals, and unified direction for the district’s educational efforts. Community involvement is vital to the Strategic Planning process; therefore, we are designing the planning process in ways that will embrace the diverse voices of our district’s stakeholders.
The purpose of this letter is to invite you to serve as a member of our Alignment and/or Core Planning Team. The Core Planning Team consists of a cross-section of all stakeholders, including student representatives. Because it is comprised of internal and external stakeholders, the Core Planning Team takes the lead in setting the broad direction for the strategic plan, and integrating the feedback and perspectives of other district and community teams that will be involved at various points along the way. We anticipate at least 40-50 people on the Core Planning Team.
As a member of the Core Planning team, you must be willing to participate in full-day gatherings on the following dates:
- October 9, 2019, 8:30 AM – 4:00 PM
- October 10, 2019, 8:30 AM – 4:00 PM
- January 21, 2020, 8:30 AM – 11:30 AM
The Alignment Team consists of a cross-section of all stakeholders, including representatives of community members seeking to bring out the shared values and support them in aligning the goals and objectives to achieve the, vision, and mission of the district.
As a member of the Alignment team, you must be willing to participate in full-day gatherings on the following dates:
- October 9, 2019, 7:00 AM – 8:15 AM
- January 21, 2020, 7:00 AM – 8:15 AM
The meetings will be held at the La Conner High School Library. We will provide a continental breakfast and lunch on each day we meet. Trained facilitators from Performance Fact, Inc. will guide our school system through the process.
Your participation in these meetings is essential to us developing a strategic plan that facilitates the building a stronger school system for the benefit of our students, staff, and community.
Please RSVP to Cherri Kahns, email@example.com, 360-466-3171, to let us know whether or not you will be able to be part of this important and exciting work.
