• at Tikal, Guatemala Mayan ruin

Hola, me llamo Melanie Graham and I am your student's Spanish or Culture through Film teacher this year at La Conner Middle/High School. As you have probably read in my parent letters, I have been teaching Español here in La Conner for about 26 years, and very much enjoy it. I am not latina myself, and learned spanish as a second language in high school and college, so I know that it's possible !!

I love to read, hike, swim laps, ride my bike, hang out with my kids & family, travel and volunteer at the Lincoln Theatre. This summer my big trip was to Central America (Belize and Guatemala) to see the Mayan ruins and great beaches and what a great time we had! It was really interesting to travel with my brother and his family... the highlight for me was probably listening to Howler Monkeys and thunder, and watching lightning flashes as we walked through the 1500 year old ruins.

August I spent working for the Forest Service again, up at 5100 feet, Artist Point at Mount Baker. I have worked seasonally for the FS for over 30 years now, and continue to enjoy the trails, the wildflowers, the fresh air and my comrades.

If you have any questions, concerns, comments about your student in Spanish, please don't hesitate to get in touch with me. My contact information is:
