Mr. Bryan Milliren
Life brings a wealth of experiences, and all of us have stories to tell. I believe that no piece of experience is ever wasted. That being said, I certainly have my share of stories to tell. I grew up in Tacoma where we lived on several acres of land. We raised cows, boarded horses, and grew vegetables. In the summers I picked berries, rode my bike, and worked and the Puyallup Fair in September. As far as jobs are concerned, I've cleaned doctor's offices, bussed tables at Denny's, managed a car wash, attended a gas station, fished in Alaska, managed rental property, and even monitored barrels of production at an oil refinery.
My education has taken me from Green River College in Auburn to Western Washington University in Bellingham. Additionally I have a certification from the University of Kansas and post-graduate studies at Immaculata University in Pennsylvania. And, over the course of five summers I visited over 25 Revolutionary War and Civil War battle fields in at least 12 different states, and stepped foot on three of the four oldest university campuses in the United States.
As a teacher and coach, I can now count the number of my students and players in the thousands! I taught middle school block in Ferndale for many years where I also had the privilege of coaching soccer, track, and volleyball. In 2014 life brought me to La Conner High School where my adventure continues. High school English, of course, is full of stories and perspectives. I am so glad to be a part of our incredible learning community. I look forward to meeting you, hearing your story, and telling you more about mine. Life is a crazy, scary, wonderful adventure! Thank you for being part of my story.
